What is to become of music publishing ?

Thirty years ago, when La Lettre du Musicien was just beginning, French music publishing was comprised of many different companies, very different in size and spirit.
Among the majors, the nobility of the French musical heritage, Heugel (founded in 1839), located in the rue Vivienne in Paris, publisher of Offenbach, Reynaldo Hahn… and up to Pierre Boulez, Betsy Jolas, Henri Dutilleux, Gilbert Amy, had already been sold Alphonse Leduc in 1980.
