The Museum Of Music Celebrates 150 Years

17 November 1864: the instrumental museum Paris Conservatory - forerunner of today's music museum - opened its doors for the first time to the public, on the rue Bergère in the 9th arrondissement. The opening was rather shy: Music lovers and the curious had four hours on Sunday morning to admire the 300 pieces collected by the museum's curator, Louis Clapisson, divided into two rooms.
